misha_b сравнительные достоинства и недостатки электрических машин, я сделал следующее предсказание:
Если они покроют всю страну достаточно густой сетью суперчарджеров (интересно, во сколько это им обойдется?), то может кто-то и согласится так путешествовать, но точно не я. Да и представьте себе картину маслом: вы приезжате на зарядку, а там очередь ... Прикиньте очереди на 4 июля или labor day... Если 3 часа едешь, 30 минут заряжаешь это единственный вариант передвижения, то его можно заодно считать и приемлемым, особенно если ехать надо обязательно. Но кто и зачем может пойти на такое "удобство" добровольно я себе и представить не могу. Разве что люди полностью помешанные на СО2.

Date: 2019-12-02 04:49 pm (UTC)I think the uniqueness of this in increased quantity of Teslas on the road plus traditional holiday when lots of people are driving. Thanksgiving and Easter are two regular peak driving periods which are occurring by calendar unlike earthquakes and hurricanes.
I also expected this to happen, we’ll see if there will be any improvements the nearest Easter.

Date: 2019-12-02 01:38 am (UTC)Вот у меня недавно знакомый купил гибрид с plug in, на работу и с работы он ездит на электромоторе (до 40 миль, на работе бесплатная зарядка), а если надо дальше, заправляешь бензином и едешь как на обычном гибриде. Очень доволен.
В Европе, насколько я знаю, мало кто ездит на далёкие расстояния на машине (очень дорого, а поезда ходят повсюду). Там уже и сегодня можно обходиться обычной электромашиной. В США с этим, конечно, сложнее.

Date: 2019-12-02 05:46 pm (UTC)Still, we should be careful of jumping to conclusions based on a few reports. Anything related to Tesla generates so much publicity that it is hard to judge whether this is wide-spread or just a problem with one location.
I think these overloads are somewhat predictable and should not be too difficult to address. The key is the trajectory, especially with the increasing number of EV's -- hopefully Tesla/ other EV companies will address these issues sooner rather than late.

Date: 2019-12-02 07:24 pm (UTC)On a highway in good weather (day or night) it is pretty much a done deal, there is really no need to do anything, even if there is traffic. Not sure about the regulations though, likely will take some time.
If the weather is bad, it gets tricky. Once I was not able to turn the autopilot on -- did not know what the problem was until I stopped and realized that the front of the car got covered in heavy wet snow as I was driving, blocking sensors and cameras (and also headlights). I am not sure something like that can be dealt with using current hardware.

Когда нужна машина использует шеринг - Zip Car и подобное. Говорит, что удобно и цена приемлемая.
Но он разведен и дети взрослые. А так, только детей развозить на разные секции - без машины никак.
