China is planning at least 150 new reactors in the next 15 years, more than the rest of the world has built in the past 35

are we counting future deaths too, or not? in Japan people live long. so if instead of 100 someone dies at 90 as the result of Fukushima, would that be "OK"/"acceptable" ?

We are dealing with pure hypotheticals here. On the other hand, the tsunami killed 15000 people.

For comparison, over 200 people were killed in a single coal mining accident in Turkey a few years ago.

actually, we are living in a fairly quiet corner of the galaxy. normally, compared to most other stars in most galaxies, all live on Earth would have been wiped out long ago by a nearby supernova.

Well, we cannot control supernovae or even a tsunami. But between coal and nuclear, say, the second is far better.

sure, as long as it is not in my backyard. a remote plant, far, far away, generating clean power delivered to me via the grid is totally fine
