However, the changing rates of cold-related and heat-related excess death ratios resulted in different net temperature-related burdens by 2016–19 in each region. The net ratio declined substantially in Africa, Oceania, and South-eastern Asia, but increased in Southern Asia and Europe in a fluctuating pattern.
