Потому что дундуки, желающие остановить нелегальную иммиграцию, раз за разом с размаху прыгают на те же депортационные грабли.

О том, чтобы сделать так, чтобы приезжать было бесперспективно, почему-то речь не идёт -- ведь могут пострадать уважаемые люди, среди которых могут найтись и доноры Партии.

What kind of better life can you imagine if you're a illegal for life, and so are your children and probably grandchildren as well?

250k births is a bit more than 5% of the total births. Not negligible but hardly a huge issue.

I am not sure what to make of your second point -- immigrants tend to have more children in general, whether undocumented or not. That's not a bad thing, without them the population would be falling, just look at the situation in Korea, Japan, much of Europe, etc.

You feel wrong. They do think about it and they make a lot of children which we have to pay for.

I disagree. A lot of them are escaping terrible life conditions, gangs and other violence. There are people who come specifically to have children in the US but I think it is a small minority and many of them are rich in any case.

Either way, these children mostly become productive members of society.

You cannot disagree with facts. They do make a lot of children. And it is a burden for society.

All of this are your subjective opinions not based on any quantifiable statistics.

There is no contradiction between desire to escape your country and plans to have children. I know b/c I was one of those people. If I could escape illegally I'd do that too.

They come not just to have children. They use children as an anchor that strongly reduces their chances to be deported. Understandably. This doesn't contradict anything. I'd do the same.

Certainly. But when you want to escape, at least as a young person, children are a very secondary consideration.

That's why it's "unfortunately", you need to understand the reason and the purpose of the 14th Amendment. It's completely irrelevant today and thus must be revised.

I don't think the original reason is very relevant. If you want to revise the law, you need a good reason why it should be revised. The fact that the original motivation does not apply any longer is neither here nor there.

I have a great reason to eliminate or rewrite 14th Amendment since it was established to allow former slaves and their children to stay. It served its purpose and makes zero sense today, it's a legal loophole for the people to gain citizenship through their children, as well as remain in the country

Нелегалы могут быть депортированы, даже если у них есть дети рожденные тут. У них три варианта — оставлять родным/ знакомым как legal gardians или отдавать в фостер. Или брать с собой назад. Дети если они были депортированы вместе с родителями, могут вернутся по достижении 18 лет.
Это всегда было.
