До главной газеты мира неожиданно дошло, то что все и так давно знали.

The Houston area shows a similar trend. The region added nearly 1.3 million homes between 1980 and 2020, as these maps show:

Численных оценок того, насколько рост ущерба от ураганов связан с передвижением людей туда где они бывают по сравнению с якобы ростом их разрушительной силы, тоже не приводится. Только bigger culprit и всё.

В другой заметке они крутятся как уж на сковородке делая вид, что ураганный прогноз был в этом году не совсем провальным.

Кстати да, чисто на слуху ураганов стало меньше со времен Катрины, после которой обещали перманентный Армагеддон. Но не случилось

Во второй заметке отмеется, что количество named storms в позапрошлом году было рекордным. Но они были не там и слабые, поэтому шума было мало.
