Стал читать. Первый конкретный пример грядущих ужасов, который они приводят такой:
The reports include warnings from the intelligence community about how climate change can work on numerous levels to sap the strength of a nation. For example, countries like Iraq and Algeria could be hit by lost revenue from fossil fuels, even as their region faces worsening heat and drought.
Оцените. В то время как администрация Байдена изо всех сил (делает вид что) пытается прекратить использовать fossil fuels - и тем самым экономически похоронить страны, у которых от fossil fuels все доходы - они на голубом глазу пытаются свалить проблемы на изменение климата. Как именно потепление помешает Ираку, Алжиру и иже с ними качать нефть не объясняют.
Второй ужас такой:
The Department of Homeland Security, which includes the U.S. Coast Guard, warned that as ice melts in Arctic Ocean, competition will increase for fish, minerals and other resources.
Нет чтоб сказать, что теперь будет легче ловить рыбу и добывать минералы и пр., что вроде бы хорошо для всех. Нет, вырастет конкуренция, а это очень-очень опасно!
Perhaps the broadest and most sweeping of the documents was a National Intelligence Estimate ... The document made three key judgments. Global tensions will rise as countries argue about how to accelerate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Climate change will exacerbate cross-border flash points and amplify strategic competition in the Arctic. And the effects of climate change will be felt most acutely in developing countries that are least equipped to adapt.
Первый пункт забавен тем, что не обязан участвовать в этом цирке, но именно ругань о том кому сколько срезать эмиссий, и есть главный риск. Второй это Арктика. Насчет развивающихся стран, есть такой нюанс, что они в основном в теплых краях, а потепление больше всего прогрессирует в холодных, в частности в той же Арктике. Но это ничего, кому кода мешали какие-то там факты.
Ещё очень понравилось:
the Coronado naval base has experienced isolated and flash flooding during tropical storm events particularly in El Niño years, the Naval Air Station Key West was hit by severe drought several years ago and a wildfire in 2017 burned 380 acres on Vandenberg Air Force Base in Southern California.
Конечно, El Niño and wildfires могут быть только от потепления, это ж каждому понятно. С другой стороны, если у них там на Vandenberg Air Force Base что-то росло прямо на аэродроме а теперь сгорело, так может это и к лучшему. А если что-то росло рядом с топливными складами, то может быть лучше что-то поменять в руководстве базой, а не замахиваться на глобальные проблемы.

Конечно, El Niño and wildfires могут быть только от потепления, это ж каждому понятно. и ведь у них как всегда есть оправдание: все честно написано.
никакие глушилки не нужны, просто нужно правильно материал подавать.

Потом там невозможно стало читать первые страницы, они скатились в односторонний убер-левый бред, потом это перекинулось и на всё остальное. Остались одни карикатуры, спорт и кулинарная секция. Но с приходом Интернета надобность в них отпала.
