Главным (можно сказать определяющим или даже по сути единственным) итогом деятельности Буша, legacy как здесь любят говорить, стала война в Афганистане и Ираке, которая стоила нам более двух триллионов долларов, несколько тысяч убитыми и десятки тысяч раненых. Плюс искалеченные судьбы и семьи, долговременные психологические травмы и т.д. Соответственно, наш авторитет в мире сильно пошатнулся, ненависть к нам стала еще сильнее, и вот мы уже стоим на пороге нового многополярного мира, о котором так мечтают Си и Путин. (Про человеческие и материальные потери Афганистана и Ирака я даже не говорю.)

Я конечно не большой знаток истории, но я не думаю, что хоть когда-то президенту США удавалось причинить столько вреда своей стране. Уж точно не на моей памяти.

Казалось бы, какая тут связь с тем, что Буш с самого начала производил впечатление полудурка не самого умного человека даже на своих сторонников? Ну, например в том, что умный мог бы не пойти на поводу у Чейни и Рамсфелда и не начать эти войны. Мог бы хоть с папаней посоветоваться, у которого хватило ума навалять Саддаму люлей и спокойно убраться восвояси. Но нет же. А теперь мы имеем, то что имеем.

Примерно в таком аксепте.
