Normally global temperature records are broken by hundredths or a tenth of a degree, so this margin is unusual.
The previous single-day heat record was set in 2016 and tied in 2022. From July 3, each day has exceeded that record.

Death Valley reported its hottest midnight temperature on record with 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48.9 degrees Celsius) on July 17.

Date: 2023-08-09 11:02 pm (UTC)Мне кажется что измерять температуру такого сложного объекта как планета и выводить две-три цифры это жульничество. Даже со спутниками. Можно было бы говорить о среднегодовых трендах в какой-то конкретной местности, где возможны более-менее стабильные замеры. И даже там я никогда не поверю в сотые градуса.
Термодинамика изучает эти процессы. Но даже для самых простых систем быстро упирается в непреодолимую сложность и прибегает к численным методам. Что уж говорить о земной атмосфере или океанических потоках.
Я могу доверять конкретному измерению, которое стабильно на протяжении многих лет. Скажем, уровень воды в определённом месте. Это используется для судоходства и есть долгая история измерений.
