Well, some professors in my university, technically government workers, make more than that. And don't even mention the football coaches.

С профессорами, которые сами себе зарабатывают через гранты, особенно если из частных источников, ситуация все же совсем другая.

These salaries are usually for doctors, administrators and sports coaches. I suspect the state is paying them, although I am not sure about the doctors. Regular professors don't make that much, probably little of that comes from grants.
