Симптоматично, что стоило Трампу предложить что-то разумное как его немедленно обвинили в расизме. Это я про Immigration bill, если кто не понял.

And I have friends in Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Berkley who see huge extra-toxic problems. And the researchers constantly mentioning ultra-left common denominator in most colleges. They are all lairs?

i went to two of those you mention. ;-)

no, i don't think they are liars, but i believe there is a great exaggeration of the Problem.

You're the first from whom I hear that.
And judging by how left wing behaves under Trump I'd doubt that a lot.

i have a hard time believing things i had not witnessed. i have been in academia for a very long time, both as an "eternal student", or "perpetual student" rather, then as faculty. perhaps i am at a low level where this "ulltra-left common denominator" simply evades me.

i don't think your friends are liars. i don't think my blog friends in the last post are liars. i don't think quant is a liar.

but i DO think they are biased and subjective, and exaggerating the importance of "left leaning", and the impact of it on their workplace.

the examples Quant gave me of preferential treatment of women in his company - do not hold water. but i accept them as HIS EXPERIENCE, with observer's bias. i can come up ( i am old, remember) with plenty of stories about women in IT being treated either deservingly - or, worse, dismissively. such as my bias.

i have not seen the championing of inferior professional women over men. of course, in medicine the path of advancement is very different than in IT, but still. in science - i am a zero as a scientist, but adjacent enough to peek into that world - in science, there is some interesting evidence that there is continued gender discrimination at the level of "corner office", pay and promotion. and the victims of these mild but consistent discrepancies are - women.

i can accept that maybe that MIT professor that cried discrimination a few years back is actually not as good as her male colleagues who earn more and have better deals with the U. i can accept that Google gender pay gap is due to women being less advanced in their engineering jobs. i can accept all this if i am SHOWN THE EVIDENCE. but so far there is little but claims of .. men, to that effect.
