yet the police do not seem to be interested in investigating the avalanche of anti muslim and anti arab "sentiment", especially around ground zero

"fuck 'em, fuck 'em up their stupid asses"

[identity profile] tandem-bike.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, right, the police in the US protects teh Yids only, it's all part of a world-domination scheme, we have the police bought.

if you see no difference between vandalism and threats in a community AND between a shouting match at a demonstration - you likely believe the above.

pfoooeey

yeah, right

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)

There is a number of cases of what qualifies as open threats and, possibly, an assault, caught on camera, right around ground zero. Even rather sad ones – when a construction worker, trying to get to work gets people blocking his way and shouting in his face and not listening to his explanation that he isn’t a muslim.

But, overall, yeah, it’s impossible to deny that it is pretty much open season on muslims I media and the society overall

no.

[identity profile] tandem-bike.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
the confrontations at GZ were odious. moreover, the people who shout Death To Muslims are MORE THAN ODIOUS, they are near criminal. However, so were the people who shouted Death To Bush at demonstations - those didn't seem to raise up your ire, did they? that was okay by you, right? be consistent, if you want people to trust you. '

so far, i don't - your comparison of things done at marches and rallies and things done at cemetaries, houses of prayer, and streets - reveal a bigot.

reveal a bigot

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)

I did want to comment how I the demagogy in the first comment, but decided to let it slip. Clearly, I was being too generous.

"those didn't seem to raise up your ire, did they? that was okay by you, right? be consistent, if you want people to trust you"

you do know what happens when people make assumptions? Here you not only made an assumption, but took it one step father

congrats!

[identity profile] tandem-bike.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
stuff your congrats in a warm place. and your generosity too, in the same hole.

your "defence" was limited to muslims. if you said :anybody who is publically threatening anybody needs to be prosecuted" i would respect you and your opinion. otherwise both are hateful, and you are no better than those that scream Kill The Muslims.

stuff your congrats in a warm place. and your generosity too, in the same hole.

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)

Clearly, you favor the beloved tradition of soviet intelligentsia to turn seemingly civilized discussion into a scandalous screaming match and make it personal. Unfortunately, I myself am not a fan and won’t stoop to your level.
Have a great weekend and keep fucking that chicken.

(if you are ignorant about the origins of the second half of the last sentence, google it, before indulging yourself in more nonsense)

stuff that quote in the same place, too

when you become agressive and condescending, expect the same.

[identity profile] ny-quant.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Sentiments are not a police matter. Actions are.

[identity profile] ninazino.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
+100!

Sentiments are not a police matter. Actions are.

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)

"Police have investigated ...racial slurs shouted..."

Re: Sentiments are not a police matter. Actions are.

Shout is a verb. Racial slurs shouted - that's an action.

Shout is a verb. Racial slurs shouted - that's an action.

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)

well, there is plenty of shouting and threats being thrown around at muslims, especially around ground zero

Re: Shout is a verb. Racial slurs shouted - that's an action.

[identity profile] ny-quant.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I walk there twice a day. Don't tell me stories. First of all there are practically no muslims in that area. Second, the local crowd is very white collar, not likely to threat anybody. Third, there is a heavy police presence.

Don't tell me stories

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)

surely, somehow your statement will make video clips disappear

"there is a heavy police presence"

but no investigations

What clips?

What clips?

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)

Video clips about shouting asshole protesters, including the specific one with the poor construction worker being assaulted by those crazies, it’s been all over the media outlets

So, this one ugly incident (that, btw, ended up with police protecting the assaulted man) constitutes the avalanche and open season?

this one ugly incident

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)

let's not resort to the demagogy of the sort that this crazy lady was using

let's separate the english from the dutch, shall we

there's an avalanche in mass media

and there are incidents all over this fine country

now, you claimed i was "telling stories" about a construction worker, and claimed you were very much informed on the situation, so i provided you the link on the incident

and, again - no investigation, was there?

Re: this one ugly incident

[identity profile] ny-quant.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I assure you the lady is not crazy. She is actually very nice. Just not to everyone.

I don't read a lot of mass media. But from what I see, specifically on the mosque subject, there is more in support than against it.

You said "well, there is plenty of shouting and threats being thrown around at muslims, especially around ground zero". This is what I called telling stories. If there were "plenty" of that I would have noticed. But in reality there was just one episode.

You are right that there was no investigation in this case. Perhaps because there was nothing to investigate. The culprit was right there and had no intention to hide. Most likely he didn't do enough to earn a criminal charge.

I don't read a lot of mass media.

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Now, let's examine this tidal wave of anti-Semitic crimes that swept through Middlesex County township that has its jewish residents running for the hills and screaming bloody murder, shall we?

so, a nineteen year old was punched once (once!) by some 15 year old baby and that was called a BEATING, no less, followed by an arrest and sentencing; let's repeat - a jewish guy gets struck by a baby, there were no antisemitic "slogans" shouted, but by the sheer virtue of the victim being a jew, that's anti-Semitic, of course, and one punch is a beating; well, why don't we call him a fucking slain martyr and erect him a motherfucking monument, huh?

then a guy was arrested for shouting “Heil Hitler” (no threats of any sort)

and then there were two swastikas drawn

that's it

because of this bullshit there is more police officers on the beat now and ADL is involved

what a motherfucking travesty, what a crying shame

there is not much to add, is there?

Re: I don't read a lot of mass media.

[identity profile] ny-quant.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
So, on one hand we have a single episode in a huge city which, in your opinion, constitutes an open season, an avalanche, and plenty of shouting. On the other hand we have three incidents in a small town which, in your opinion, are not a cause for any concern.

Such a mindset does reflect a certain bias.

KEEP FUCKING THAT CHICKEN

[identity profile] new-user-name.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)

"we have a single episode in a huge city"

no, we do not

you asked me for one link to get details about this one episode, which I provided

now, since you obviously exhausted your "arguments", you turned to the bullshit your lady friend was peddling here

"we have three incidents in a small town"

now, we do not

why can't you stop lying?

"Such a mindset does reflect a certain bias. "

it certainly does - in you and your lady friend

Re: KEEP FUCKING THAT CHICKEN

[identity profile] ny-quant.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That's enough.
