Вот до чего дошло

In many ways, Twitter has been the most vulnerable to exploitation of all the social media companies. The company officially says the 5 percent of accounts on Twitter are automated bots, but outside researchers say the number could be much higher.

It’s very easy to buy fake accounts on Twitter, making it hard for Twitter to discern the extent of the Russian meddling, analysts said.

У WP на сайте в заголовке сказано "201 account tied to russian agents". И аж 3 (три) от RT. Дальше заголовка не прошёл, деньги просят, которые я им платить не собираюсь.

Is it only me или у них там окончательно крыша съехала ?

it is so easy to build a bot for twitter. I have done it like 7 yrs ago. It was talking with phrases from Star Trek, that was fun.

I believe it is much more than 5%

Building a vocabulary of fun quotes may be easy. But making a semi-intelligent conversation is probably a lot harder.

not really.

Markov chain bots are known
RNN bots are known
Lot of commercial backend options like IBM Watson and so on.
