Gun violence incidents this year represent a 50% increase over the same period in 2019, which saw 2,100 shootings, the data shows.
С принятием нового закона будет ещё лучше, наверное.

Correlation is in evidence. Causation is not clear.
Gun violence is a bad thing, high or not. But I didn't see either of those expressions on the web site.
